St. Louis Port Authority

19 Miles of Riverfront

The St. Louis Port District includes 19 miles of riverfront and over 6,000 acres of industrial, manufacturing, and intermodal commerce. The City’s riverfront has an annual throughput of over 15 million tons.

The St. Louis Port District’s Municipal River Terminal is the only general purpose dock in the region on the west side of the Mississippi River. The terminal includes 400 acres with a 2,000′ dock and multimodal connectivity with open and covered storage options and 4,300′ river frontage.

 

Intermodal Connection

The Municipal River Terminal has direct access to the regional switching carrier through the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) with service to the six North American Class I carriers. The St. Louis Municipal River Terminal is adjacent to Interstate 70 and has easy access to Interstates 44, 55, 64, 255, and 270. There are five intermodal facilities within 14 miles or less of the Municipal River Terminal.

River harbor services include dry bulk terminal, fleeting services, general cargo dock, liquid bulk terminal and a roll-on/roll-off dock.

 

Location

The St. Louis Municipal Terminal is located in the heart of the City of St. Louis’ industrial zone and is adjacent to warehouse and commercial lease opportunities.

SCF Lewis and Clark Terminal Access

The Port Authority recently leased operations of the Municipal River Terminal to SCF Lewis and Clark Terminals LLC. SCF has eight harbor tugs and over a thousand barges in the St. Louis harbor. SCF has a strong relationship with the six Class I railroads and major trucking companies.
