St. Louis Downtown Airport

St. Louis Downtown Airport is located just across the river from downtown St. Louis, in Sauget, IL, with offices in Cahokia, IL. Providing quick access to downtown St. Louis, the Airport is located within a 1,013-acre site containing the adjacent Sauget Business Park, ideal for distribution, warehousing and light industrial use. In 2011, the Airport completed a $7.4 million runway reconstruction project to accommodate large aircraft such as the Boeing 757. The Airport is the most used Illinois-based airport outside of Chicago, and is owned by Bi-State Development, the organization in charge of other enterprises such as the Freightway and Metro Transit. The Downtown Airport is home to:

  • Three runways (7,000’x150′, 5,300’x75′, 2,800’x75′)
  • Two terminals
  • Twenty-six aviation-related businesses
  • Two full-service 24-hour FBOs including Jet Aviation, a General Dynamics FBO focused on the refurbishment and maintenance of private and corporate jets
  • The nation’s oldest flight school, St. Louis University’s Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology
