Located at the heart of the U.S. transportation network, with access to six Class-I railroads, four U.S. interstates, and two multi-modal harbors that sit near three U.S. inland rivers, America’s Central Port is one of the largest freight hubs in the Midwest. With industrial-grade utilities, Foreign Trade Zone designation, and excellent transportation infrastructure, the Port’s portfolio of development-ready sites and industrial real estate provides a supply chain and logistics advantage with which very few can compete. (Barge and Rail Services Provided 24/7)
Madison Harbor
This off-channel harbor is located just south of Locks #27 on the Mississippi River. This location offers port customers and tenants access to open, southerly barge navigation to the Gulf coastal region. Rail access to the harbor is provided by rail loops that facilitate unit train movement to and from the port to BNSF, CN, CSX, CPKC, NS, and UP. This harbor includes a high-capacity dry bulk terminal, truck and rail scales, storage expansion capacity, and a general cargo dock designed to handle large building components and equipment weighing over 1,000 tons, positioning the harbor as a regional hub for breakbulk and heavy-lift project cargo moving through the inland river system.
Granite City Harbor
The offset, mile-long, slackwater harbor consistently serves more than 2,500 barges and 3 million tons of grain, fertilizer, steel, petro-chemicals, and other bulk goods each year. Facilities include dry bulk terminals, a general cargo dock, and a roll-on/roll-off dock.
Industrial & Commercial Real Estate
The 1,200-acre industrial facility at America’s Central Port includes more than two million square feet of warehousing and industrial space, commercial office options, residential apartments, and multiple development-ready sites. Incentives include TIF, Enterprise Zone, Small Business Hubzone, EDGE Tax Credits, and Opportunity Zone. Home to more than 50 businesses, America’s Central Port continues to attract best-in-class operations and great-paying jobs to the Southwest Illinois region.
